This case study aims to introduce the ideas raised in the tutorial on product analysis. The key objectives are too:

to illustrate a product with a clear material property requirement - electrical resistance - as a straightforward application of selection charts;
to show how to use several charts in combination with processing information to understand different components made from polymers and metals;
to illustrate the estimation of manufactured cost for competing processes.
